This website is created in order to host the narratives of refugees living in Morocco who participated in the Stories Without Visa Digital Storytelling Workshop that was held in Rabat, Morocco, in January 16th-20th, 2017, in the scope of a joint project that has been carried by Hacettepe University Faculty of Communication Digital Storytelling Unit, UNHCR Morocco and EGE Rabat, with the support of Embassy of the Netherlands.
Digital Storytelling Workshops enable individual participants to share their stories in a friendly environment and to create their individual digital stories. Digital stories are amateur forms that combine an individual voiceover recording of a personal narrative with a selection of images, created or chosen by the participant in a collaborative workshop setting facilitated by a trained digital storytelling team.
Eight refugees living in Morocco coming from various countries such as Syria, Ivory Coast, Congo, Iraq, Yemen participated in the first workshop in the scope of this joint project. These participants besides attending the workshop also joined the Digital Storytelling Workshop Facilitator Training Program.
